It’s been a while since I put up a record from the very excellent Czech label United Forces of Dub, so here’s a track from their very first release. It’s by Leicester producer Steve Vibronics who also runs the Scoops label and has worked with artists such as Iration Steppers and Zion Train. Congo River sees him pairing up with Splitz Horns, who I don’t know much about, but they have appeared on Scoops releases in the past.

Get Congo River, plus Kenny Knots’ Dem Don’t Know on 10” vinyl for £6 from Scotch Bonnet.

It’s that time of week where I put out a track by someone I know nothing about. This is a tune by some Brit going by the name of Archie Wah Wah, which I guess is taken from the amazing tune of the same name by Desmond Dekker [Spotify link].

Dubby McGee is a chiptune riddim that avoids the usual trappings of tedium that plague this genre to provide an uplifting tune that is pretty much the perfect example of chiptune done well.

Check out more on Archie Wah Wah’s Soundcloud.

Here’s something special from a few months back, it’s Mr Williamz laying vocals over the No Riddim from Danish duo Maffi, both of who have been absent from the blog for a little while. It’s nice to be able to bring them back in one joyful post.

I don’t really need to explain this one. It’s Soom T’s last record Ode to a Carrot. Released on Jahtari at the beginning of last year, it is utterly sublime. Listen to it, love it, then pick it up for £14.49 from Norman Records.
