Dubology may be a woeful name for an artist, but (didn’t you know?) it’s about the music stupid and this riddim from the Cardiff producer is superb.

The raison d’etre of Dubology “is always trying to keep the vibes conscious and spiritual” and on King of Kings - uploaded to Soundcloud just last night - I think that mission statement is nailed rather perfectly.

The first 12” from new UK label Sub Funk Records is an absolutely steamer, it features Burro Banton over a Stickybuds vs Mista Savona riddim.

It’s a global affair. Burro Banton is a legendary Jamaican dancehall vocalist, Mista Savona is a Melbourne-based producer and Stickybuds is from the West Coast of Canada. What I love most about it is the global flavour that sits in the riddim. This is unmistakably dub, but grooves along like a killer funk beast.

It’s all about environmentalism too, which is nice.

It’s out on vinyl now, you can pick it up for £5.99 from Ghettofunk. If you need further convincing, you can listen to the whole EP through Soundcloud.

Let’s start the week with something a bit over the top. This is unashamedly not digidub, but is seriously Parly B and will lift you out of any Monday lull you might be feeling.

Goodness me, this is a record I’ve wanted on vinyl for a long time but haven’t yet raised the funds to import it. It’s a downright danceable way to go into the weekend and comes straight out of Italy via Torreggae.

Featuring an amazing Solo Banton vocal too, you can enjoy it here via Spotify, or check out the sublime video over on Youtube.

New sound from Jamaica here from Portmore resident Zabrick that appeared on Soundcloud via German profile Selati Ananzi Higrade. This is all I know about any of it, so take it and just enjoy the tune.

Parly B is the man behind the best track of the past few years in Every Manor, and here’s a bit more gold from the greatest Doncaster resident since Brian Blessed.

Tightest Summin has been around for about a year and sees Parly more in the realms of UK Funky than dub but it holds just enough ties to Dancehall to make it onto the blog. Actually, scratch that, it’s just an awesome tune, so deserves putting as far and wide as possible. In fact, I don’t know why it’s taken so long for me to put him back on here.
